This version has some quick fixes from the larger 2025.8 release:

- Resolved an issue with long-press functionality on jump buttons (iOS 26)
- Fixed input text being hidden when composing a new message
- Corrected image display so the bottom portion no longer gets cut off
- Ensured post status now shows and updates correctly after hiding and saving
- Fixed issue with toolbar items not showing correctly on iPad single column layout (iOS 26)

It's liquid glass time! For those of you running iOS 26, Narwhal now features a sleek new look built with liquid glass. We've worked to tastefully introduce Apple's new design language throughout the app while keeping the Narwhal ethos and core feeling intact.

- Action Bar: Now uses liquid glass buttons and groups for your actions. Buttons placed next to each other share a single glass container. Empty buttons become transparent space, letting content show through. (iOS 26 only)
- Navigation Bar: The top navigation bar is now fully transparent, just like Apple's core apps on iOS 26. Content fades out subtly as you scroll. (iOS 26 only)
- Side Menu: Narwhal's signature side menu now has a stunning new liquid glass design. (iOS 26 only)
- Sort Options: Subreddit and user profile sort bars are now buttons in the top-right corner. The sort button appears to the left of any other top-right buttons you've configured (iOS 26 only). Prefer the old style? Two new settings let you show the sort bar on scroll, just like in iOS 18: "Show sort bar instead of top-right sort button" in Settings > Posts and Settings > User Profiles
- Many additional interface elements now use liquid glass, including the overflow (...) menu and the markdown keyboard. (iOS 26 only)
- Added a setting to use your theme's primary accent color for liquid glass buttons. (iOS 26 only)
- Added a setting to move the iPad post list from the left side to the right side. (iOS 26 only)
- Updated ad block list for web posts. Please let us know if you encounter any issues with ads.
- The side menu is much more responsive. You can start scrolling immediately while any animations are still running.

Bug Fixes:

- Blue boxes no longer appear around posts on iPad.
- Fixed issue with certain comments being truncated when using larger fonts.
- Fixed videos displaying at incorrect sizes on initial load.
- Fixed issue where the action bar could appear on top of a message thread.

Narwhal now has support for iOS 26! We added liquid glass throughout the app and we will be adding more over time. We also made these changes:

- The column widths on iPad are now resizable by tapping on the divider and dragging
- Fixes issue where the action bar would sometimes show up on top of a message thread
- Fixes issue where cancelling a forward navigation swipe would prevent that view from being shown from a subsequent forward swipe

We heard that many of you are unhappy with the RedGifs changes. Unfortunately, RedGifs has changed their API which forced these changes on Narwhal. However, we were able to make some quick improvments:

- Defaults to using the Narwhal video player for RedGifs in Big Preview mode. However, this means that those videos will no longer have audio. If you prefer audio with your RedGifs, there is a new setting in Settings > Posts to prefer the RedGifs embedded video player.
- There is a similar setting for how to load RedGifs when opening a post. By default, it uses the RedGifs embedded video player, but you can turn it off to use the old video player, however there will be no audio.
- Using the progress bar for RedGifs in big preview mode should be much easier now
- Automatically defaults RedGifs to HD
- When opening a RedGifs post, it will auto unmute if your "Unmute GIFs in Posts" setting is set to "Always"

The redesigned album/gallery experience is here! We have a few more improvements as well for this release. Stay tuned for moderator tools and other improvements in our next major release. Here is everything new in 2025.3:

- We rebuilt albums & galleries from scratch to feature horizontal scrolling similar to the Photos app. Quickly scroll through each photo and tap to enter full screen where you can keep scrolling between photos!
- For those of you who prefer the original vertical album user interface, we added a setting in Settings > Post Content to use the original UI
- Content Filters now have a settings section. Within you will find the following two new settings: "Do not ask to confirm when adding a filter" and "Deactivate filters". The latter is for when you want to temporarily deactivate your filters to load content as if you didn't have any. Then you can turn the setting back off and your filters are back!
- RedGifs changed their API to require video embeds instead of directly showing the video. All RedGifs will now load as a web page embed. Please let us know if you have any issues loading content!
- New multi account settings section in Settings > General with two new settings: "Auto refresh home feed when switching accounts" and "Reset app when switching accounts". When on, the accounts list will be dismissed and the app will go back to the home screen.
- Shows a lock icon next to post titles for locked posts.

Search in comments is here! We have a lot more in the works, but wanted to get these new features in your hands as quickly as possible:

- Search for text in comments (and comment authors) using the new "Find in Comments" feature! You will find it in the ... menu or you can add it to your action bar for posts. It will even auto expand comments that you may have collapsed, which include the search phrase.
- Translate Reddit content! There is now a translate option in the all menu for comments, long press menu for self post text, and the long press menu for post titles. (Only on iOS 18 and higher). The translate option will show up when content is in another language from the preferred language of your device.
- Mute inbox notifications for posts from the ... menu or by long pressing on a post title
- Mute inbox notifications for comments from the All swipe action or ... menu
- Adds setting to mark posts as read after upvoting/downvoting in Settings > Posts
- Automatically upvote posts & comments when saving. Turn this on with two new settings in Settings > Posts and Settings > Comments
- Instead of seeing "img" in comments that have image emotes, there will now be a link to view the emote
- Adds "Copy Text" option to the context menu when long pressing a post title

Bug Fixes:

- Fixes an issue that would cause certain Youtube videos to not load
- Fixes rare crash that could happen when loading a subreddit
- Fixes another rare crash that could happen when opening Narwhal
