    This was a big release, even if a lot of the work happened behind the scenes.

    We rolled out a major infrastructure update and used it to focus hard on performance, reliability, and making sure the basics just work. You should notice faster loading, smoother navigation, fewer blank states, and better behaviour when your connection isn’t perfect.

    Your Feed also got a lift. Crew sessions now show up more consistently, and notifications do a better job of letting you know when your mates have been out, both in the app and via push.

    We also added some much-needed clarity to your surf history. If a board has been deleted from your quiver, your past sessions still keep that record, and it’s now clearer what’s current and what’s been removed.

    In this update:
    • Major performance and infrastructure improvements
    • Faster loading and smoother navigation across the app
    • Better behaviour on slow or unreliable connections
    • Expanded crew session visibility in the Feed
    • Improved in-app and push notifications for crew activity
    • Clearer surf session details when a board has been deleted

    This update is about making the app feel more alive, easier to use, and smoother where it matters.

    On Apple Watch, things got quicker and more intuitive. You can now start a session straight from a Watch complication, and end one using the Digital Crown instead of fiddling with on-screen controls.

    Behind the scenes, we’ve also been spending time on performance. Tracking down lag, tightening things up, and making sure the app feels smoother and more responsive today. And we’re not stopping there. You’ll see this continue to improve in the next release too.

    In short, we:
    • Added Apple Watch complications for faster session starts
    • Enabled ending a Watch session using the Digital Crown
    • Continued performance and responsiveness improvements

    Clean-ups, quality-of-life upgrades, and a smoother experience all round.

    Quick one. We picked up an issue where distance numbers weren’t behaving themselves and started showing the same value across the app. Month, Year, All time, even individual sessions… not ideal.

    The good news is your data was always spot on. This was just a display hiccup from a recent update, and it’s now been fixed.

    Everything’s back to showing the right distances, in the right places, the way you’d expect.

    In this update:
    • Fixed an issue causing incorrect distance values to display
    • Distances now show correctly for sessions, Month, Year and All time views
    • No impact to your actual surf data

    Thanks to everyone who flagged it quickly. We moved fast on this one so you can get back to trusting what you’re seeing.

    Some of you opened the app and were greeted with an empty Track tab, like your entire surf history had decided to clock off early. Not great. We fixed it. Your sessions are now showing up properly instead of vanishing into the void.

    We also spent time tightening up the charts so they read cleaner and feel more consistent. And the big addition this release is Year view, which is completely new and ready to roll. It gives you a simple month-by-month breakdown of your year so you can actually see how things stacked up without any fuss.

    Distance formatting got a tidy little refresh too. Shorter labels, clearer units, and no more odd formatting quirks.

    Also in this update:
    • Track tab sessions returning as expected
    • All new Year view with month-by-month bars and clear yearly totals
    • Smarter scaling across the Month and All time charts
    • Cleaner labels and more consistent layout in Track
    • Updated distance formatting using m and km where it makes sense

    We’ve been keeping a close eye on the fixes from 3.0.12 and we’re happy to report… nothing happened. In the best possible way. No crashes. No sync dramas. No surprises. Just the app behaving itself like it finally learned some manners.

    A few of you let us know your Track tab looked emptier than a carpark on a 2-foot onshore day. Good news: your surfs were never gone, the app was just being shy. We’ve sorted the display logic so your sessions show up properly again.

    We also gave the Month and All time charts a solid clean-up. Out with the weird scaling. In with sensible axes, proper labels and charts that actually reflect how much you’ve been surfing, not how much blank space we can fit on a screen.

    This update includes:
      •  Continued monitoring of the 3.0.12 crash fixes (still holding strong)
      •  Track tab sessions showing up again like they should
      •  A fresh, smarter Month chart with proper scaling and readable labels
      •  An All time graph that finally reflects your real surf history
      •  More polish, more consistency and less head-scratching overall

    We’ll keep tuning, fixing and refining so the app stays solid every time you open it. No drama, no stress, just the good stuff.

    Now you can surf crop it out. Trim the start or end of your session using easy-grab handles on the timeline so you can ditch the walk up the beach or your detour to the servo. When you crop, your map, stats and brag-worthy numbers update instantly (though you might lose a few achievements you didn’t technically earn between sets).

    Surf smarter, crop cleaner and keep your sausage roll runs where they belong… off the leaderboard.

    Also in this update:

    What’s New in 3.0.8

    • We’ve refreshed the Surfline conditions UI — a cleaner look, with better clarity across your Feed and session summaries

    • Connect your Surfline account to unlock richer surf data, including tide, water temp, air temp and wetsuit recommendations

    • Fixed a mismatch in displayed swell data — the app now shows Surfline’s forecast more accurately, right from their source

    • Resolved a login bug that had some crew stuck on the sign-in screen — you should now land smoothly every time

    • Deleted boards no longer take your session data with them — all your waves still show up in Track, even if the board’s been scrapped
