The Date of Birth is required for the following essential features:
1. Digital Membership Card Verification
Upon registration, the app automatically generates a personalized digital membership card. The Date of Birth is embedded as a verification attribute to ensure account authenticity and to prevent duplicate or fraudulent memberships.
2. Birthday Discount & Loyalty Rewards
The app provides a Birthday Discount Promotion as part of its loyalty program. To maintain fairness and prevent abuse of this benefit, the Date of Birth is collected once during registration and is not editable afterward. This safeguards the integrity of the promotion and ensures equal treatment for all members.

To ensure transparency and user trust, we have implemented the following safeguards:
• Explicit Disclosure:
Privacy Policy Section 3 has been updated to clearly state that Date of Birth is used only for membership verification and loyalty rewards, and not for advertising, profiling, or third-party sharing.
• User Awareness at Point of Collection:
A “Why we need this” tooltip has been added to the registration screen, explaining the purpose of Date of Birth collection before the user submits their information.
• Data Minimization & Protection:
The Date of Birth is collected only once, stored securely, and used solely for the stated purposes, in line with data minimization and privacy-by-design principles.

Given that the Date of Birth is essential to the app’s core account-based features, is clearly disclosed, and is used in a limited and transparent manner, we respectfully believe this implementation complies with Guideline 5.1.1 and provides meaningful value to the user while maintaining privacy integrity.
