When friends send messages that need long replies while I'm out walking or eating, I want to respond quickly without sending voice messages.

1. Does it support real-time transcription during recording?
Not currently—it records first, then transcribes when you're finished recording.

2. Is there a maximum transcription length?
No limit in theory—you can record several hours of audio. However, since transcription happens on your device, longer recordings will take more time to process. I've tested it with about 1 hour of audio and the transcription was accurate.

3. What's the transcription speed?
It depends on your device. On my iPhone 15, the transcription speed is about 1:5, meaning 5 minutes of audio takes about 1 minute to transcribe.

4. Why is this a paid app without a free trial?
We designed Whisper Notes to be completely offline to protect your privacy. Once you download and open the app, it never connects to the internet again.
Offering a free trial would require in-app purchases, which need an internet connection—exactly what we're trying to avoid to keep your data secure.

If you're not satisfied, just tap the settings button in the top right corner to find the "Request Refund" option.

5. Why doesn't it support AI summaries?
Privacy is our top priority. We never upload your voice recordings or transcriptions to any AI services or cloud servers. You can always copy your transcriptions and use your preferred AI tool separately if you want summaries.

6. Why does transcription stop when I switch to another app?
Because Whisper Notes uses on-device processing, it needs access to your phone's GPU to transcribe audio. Apple doesn't allow third-party apps to use the GPU when running in the background, so iOS automatically stops the transcription process when you leave the app.

If this happens, simply return to the app and tap "Re-transcribe" to pick up where you left off.
