This update includes a handful of improvements behind the scenes, helping to lay the ground-work for some future feature updates. Reading List now requires iOS 17 and up, this helps keep the app using the latest technologies and to keep it running smoothly.

I'm aware there's been ongoing issues with the book metadata lookup, due to issues at Google Books. I'm actively working on some alternative book lookup sources, so hopefully will be able to improve that experience in a future update.

This update fixes an issue where a book search may fail when a language restriction has been set in the Settings tab.

Unfortunately there have been issues this week with the book metadata source in use (Google Books). When this happens, the app falls back to a different source of book metadata - but there was a further problem (this one my fault) which would make the search fail at this fallback source whenever the app tries to restrict the results to only a given language. Whoopsie.

With this update, the fallback should work, which should prevent the errors. The update also fixes an issue where the app could get stuck in edit mode when the search bar was active, and improves a few small UI elements on iOS 26.

This update includes a refreshed UI to support Liquid Glass on iOS 26 (iPhone only for now), along with performance improvements, bug fixes and other refinements throughout.

- Made the ISBN text copyable from the book details screen (with a long-press)
- Fixed an issue with the display of the filter finished books screen

This update fixes an issue which could cause the app to crash when editing book metadata whilst running on iOS 16.0 – 16.3.

Add book filters to your finished list. You can now restrict your finished list to show just books finished in a given timeframe, such as "During 2025". Tap Edit then Add Filter to set it up. More filters coming in future updates!

QUICK VIEW RATINGS
See your book ratings directly on the book list screen. This one has been requested by many users, and it's here at last! Tap the Sort button, then toggle Show Ratings to adjust the behaviour.

BUG FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS
- New option to prevent the app from presenting the edit read state screen when opening a book from a widget.
- The lock screen widget shows the current page even when the book doesn't have a page count.
- Glitchy autocomplete on certain text fields on macOS has been prevented.
- And this update includes many behind-the-scenes technical improvements to help keep Reading List performant and up-to-date.

Note: this update drops support for iOS 15, the app now requires iOS 16. This is to allow me to modernise the app's codebase and make it easier to develop.
Version 2.7.1 includes a fix to an issue which could prevent the app from launching in some cases when upgrading from an older version.
Version 2.7.2 includes a fix to an issue where the Edit Book screen could cause the app to crash.

- Fixes an issue that could prevent widgets from rendering when running iOS 16
- Improves the speed at which a widget updates when changing data.
